2017-2018 Federal Subsistence Caribou Hunt Unit 9D

2017-2018 Federal Subsistence Caribou Hunt Unit 9D permits are available in the QTT Office.  Federal regulations indicate each resident hunter may take 1 bull caribou with a federal permit from August 10th 2017 - September 20, 2017 and from November 15, 2017 through March 31, 2018.

All designated hunters must return a completed harvest report.  Designated hunters may not charge the recipient for their service, or claim the mean or any part of the harvested caribou for themselves. The designated hunger may hunt for any number of recipients, but may have no more than four harvest limits (four bull caribou) in their possession at any time. It is the hunters responsibility to ensure eligibility as a local subsistence rural resident and to have a valid state hunting license.  both the designated hunger and the recipient must get a federal subsistence caribou permit.

Permits are available in the QTT Office, open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.  There is no quota on the number of federal subsistence caribou permits for the fall and winter hunting season.  Hunt applications and harvest permits should be sent to the Izembek National Wildlife Refuge within 30 days following the close of the federal subsistence caribou hunting season.
