Culture Camp Travel Scholarships

Culture Camp 2015 will be here before you know it.  Sure, June 22nd sounds far away, but these next three months are going to breeze by!  Now is when you should start making plans on how to get to Sand Point to participate in camp.  We at the Tribe understand travel costs can be prohibitive.  Here are a couple of options you may want to consider.

  • The Alaska Marine Highway: One way from Homer to Sand Point is as low as $231 making a round trip ticket $462 (lower for children 11 and under).  This beautiful trip on the Tustumena takes a couple of days, but the sight seeing opportunities are well worth the couple extra travel days.
  • A Culture Camp Travel Scholarship
    • Applicants will be considered eligible based on the following criteria:

A shareholder of The Aleut Corporation (TAC).
A descendant of a shareholder of TAC.*
A spouse of a shareholder of TAC.
An ex-spouse of a TAC shareholder with shareholder descendant children.*
An Aleut or a descendant of an Aleut who is a beneficiary of the Aleutian Pribilof Islands Restitution Trust.*

*Note: Descendant is defined as the child, grandchild or great-grandchild.
