Qualifying

Since we've started the Nutrition Assistance Program in Sand Point, it's been very beneficial for a number of families.  One of the benefits of the FDPIR program is the income guidelines are slightly higher than they are for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) formally called the Food Stamp Program.

Households receiving services from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program can also pre qualify for the Nutrition Assistance Program funded through the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR).  However, prior to receiving FDPIR services, households would need to submit a form to the Qagan Tayagungin Tribe to discontinue their SNAP services.
